American Standard Heating
Polar Vortex. Even in Chicago, we get cold when a polar vortex hits town. Frankly, I am no weatherman so polar vortex is new to me too. I have learned that it is really cold. Heck, frigid.
As you can imagine, we have done a lot of repairs in the past few months. Unfortunately we have also had to install new systems for some clients. We try to keep any system running but sometimes the parts to fix the furnace are not available, or the system is just so run down and old, putting money into it reminds me of a black hole in space. The cash just vanishes. So we always recommend to clients when they should change systems.
We love by American and Rheem heating, cooling and water heater systems. There are even allergy specific systems to help with allergies. It works!
Today, I just want to give you some information about American Standard and a few heating and energy saving tips.
Door Stop Wind Blocker
First, I like it simple. Buy two 4 foot pieces of a tight woven cloth or soft leather.
Second, sew them together really good. Roll over the fabric and make a sewn rolled seam. The third step is to go buy lentils. Fill your sock tube with lentils. Do not cook the lentils. Keep them raw.
Step four, sew a rolled edge at the end of the tube so no lentils leak out.
You just make a low cost door stop un-wanted wind blocker. Keep the breezes out.
OK, if they didn't work, you may need a new furnace. I like American Standard. An American company that has been around for 130 years. I think they are doing something really right.
American Standard has heating & cooling systems that get matched to the home. They have the AccuLink Communicating System that works via thermostat to the Nexia home automation solution. It is a fantastic system.
They also have systems for allergy sufferers. My friend has a family member with an allergy and we are always looking for solutions for him. We installed an American system and it is a lot better. These systems work and should be worthy of your review for your home if a loved one has allergies.
That's it for this week. Stay warm, it's cold out there.
We are here with solutions.
